This song was written for Blue On Black some years ago
now and appeared on the band’s last release ‘Robert
Johnsons Door’.
It was meant to acknowledge all the great and influential
Guitarists that are no longer with us with references to
SRV, Rory Gallagher, Jimi Hendrix, Paul Kossoff, and Robert
Johnson to name a few.
Sadly, since then, there have been more names to add to
that list Gary Moore, Jack Bruce, B.B. King and others.
Including the song in our live set has provoked frequent
requests for a ‘Blacktop’ recording of it so we decided to
include a re-worked arrangement on this release.
We wanted this version to stand up in its own right
compared to any previous release and so we really hope
you like the new arrangement as much as we do.
